It is a great danger of mine to get too involved in learning about God to the neglect of increasing my affection for God — at least in this season; I think there have been times in my life when it’s been different.  Theology is dangerous in the hands of a cold heart.  It puffs up with pride; it becomes a weapon against others; it gives a false sense of security; it produces no sanctification; and it cannot justify.  God hates the one who knows much about him but does not love him.
